The city of Garges-lès-Gonesse in France is using biometrics to manage its time.

The 40,000-inhabitant municipality has decided to set up a solution to support flexible hours for around 900 agents. Therefore, Incotec has presented Incovar, its time management software. After assessing it, the city was convinced it was the solution best adapted to its expectations in terms of workforce organization, so it decided to acquire the software.

In addition, in order to simplify its time management as much as possible, the city has chosen biometric recognition devices directly linked to Incovar.

Both efficient and modern, this technology enables a reliable recognition of the agents clocking in and out. In fact, to ensure the identification of an employee, the biometric terminal uses his/her fingers’ contour. Thanks to biometric authentication, badge losses and replacements costs can be avoided. This system also ensures that no one falsifies one’s identity, and is in compliance with the French Data Protection Authority (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés - CNIL) as no fingerprint is recorded.
